Located in Dubai, Water Canal blends elements of Brazilian modernism with influences from Middle Eastern architecture. The inspiration from Niemeyer’s curves merges with the traditional arches of Moorish architecture, creating a unique connection between distinct styles.

The building overlooks Dubai’s canal boardwalk and fully embraces the presence of water all over the ground floor with reflecting ponds both inside and outside. The plaza not only serves as a gathering space for the community but also accommodates non-residential uses, which activates the public space, creating a vibrant and dynamic community. This interaction between public and private spaces enhances the quality of the architecture and spaces, introducing a new concept of luxury in Dubai.

Balconies are designed as generous extensions of the internal spaces allowing for fully furnished living spaces surrounded by the signature local skyline. Additionally, the structural concept results in open floor plans for the apartments. It offers great flexibility and freedom for the interior design and, therefore, for the expression of different identities of the residents.

The stone surfaces create contrast between the neutrality of travertine and the deep green guaco marble. The use of warm walnut wood ties together all materials. The rooftop´s lush garden, typical of Studio MK27’s works, brings elements from the outside to the inside and blends the simplicity of architectural shapes with the natural extravagance of the dense greenery.
