Two perpendicular axes in a single ground floor organize MM House plan. One of the axis correspond to the horizontal built volume of the house – with its green roof that elevates the grass of the lot and blends surroundings and construction. The second axis guides the negative space, the void, for the wooden deck and pool.

In the intersection of these axes, a veranda with a kitchen and a lounge area articulates the social area and the garden, being a transition between indoors and outdoors.

The veranda divides the construction into two blocks, both with wooden folding doors cladding, and creates a rigorous program organizarion . The south volume contains the garage and TV room; the north box houses the bedrooms, the kitchen, the utilities and the living room – which connects as well to the void in the axis intersection. The ceiling builds the internal spatiality: in the veranda, it is low and made of concrete and, in the living room, built with wooden strips, it accompanies the roof slope.

The hot climate of the region (hinterland of São Paulo State) defined project elements in function to the house livability. All of the rooms have external ventilation and the wooden folding doors work as brises-soleil that can be entirely operated by the user. Furthermore, the green roof assumes the function of a powerful thermal insulator.
